Women's month celebration
Mar. 9 2020
As every year, Bureau Veritas celebrates the International Women’s Day on March 8th. Gender equality is at the heart of our inclusion values and the opportunity for the South African team to dedicate the entire month to women celebration.
In Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Centurion, all the teams reunited to start this month and talk about equality between men and women. They immortalized these moments by taking photos representing gender equality, making the equal sign with their arm or brandishing signs of the egalitarian values upheld at Bureau Veritas.
On March 5, Bureau Veritas presented a colorful African head wrap to all women. A good opportunity to bring together teams working in different locations and share a convivial moment.
On March 6th, all the employees reunited to celebrate gender equality by having lunch on some of the sites.
The guys handing out chocolates with inspirational quotes to the ladies. During the lunch, stories were shared about women that inspired them throughout the years.
To end this day, the lady with the best head wrap won a price and got to demonstrate to the other ladies how it is done.
Government restrictions in the fight against COVID-19 led to the cancellation of the netball match scheduled between Bureau Veritas employees and a Middleburg women's team, as well as a visit to Home of Hopes, an organization supported by our teams for several months. These two events were part of the March program for International Women's Rights Month.
However, in order to provide for all the girls supported by Home of Hopes during the general confinement period, the teams offered food and hygiene products to relieve the organization's volunteers.
